Some of the glasses are found on the ground, some are hidden under sand. Some specimens were exposed to the desert wind in the same direction for long time. Slowly but continuously, the sandy winds ground one face of the glass. Sometimes, sand and wind even drilled natural holes in the glasses. All specimens were collected during our expedition to the "Great Sand Sea" in the Libyan desert 2003.
